New features and some big BIG plans

So some time has passed, and yours truly has been locked into some heavy duty code work for the site.  Sorry, I haven’t forgotten about ya ;)

Anyways, a new feature has been added to the site which is aimed at better serving anyone who comes to the site, member or not.  We have put in place a spiffy brand new support system that can help in matters pertaining to technical support, sales and membership support, as well as general questions.  This in my opinion, was a long overdue feature we needed.  There is so much going on in the site as far as what we offer, that it’s pretty darn tricky to present it all in a way that will answer everyone’s questions.

On to the secret squirrel stuff going on.  Now I have sworn to an oath of secrecy under a full moon wearing a tea kettle on my head (that’s the company policy around here), so I can only give you some hints as to what’s coming.

  • We have something just for you that will help in the upcoming holiday season
  • We have something else that is high tech but super easy to use and super useful
  • We’re working on taking the site to a whole new level
  • We also have something in the works that you can use from ANYWHERE in the world at anytime

I know, really vague.  Like I said.. tea kettle… full moon.. all that stuff.  Trust me though, all of these things are gonna blow you away.  And that first one is something that you will definitely want to get on board with when it gets announced.

So if you are interested in finding out what all this is and to be ready for it when it becomes available, subscribe to the blog or sign up for our newsletter.   Well that’s all I got for today, so I’m going to get back to coding away.  Till next time!

The things going on

Seeing how it’s Friday and I can’t stop thinking about getting home and checking on my sick little boy (he’s got a chest cold coming on), I thought I would take a minute and update everyone on what’s going on with the site and what we got planned.

About a week ago we finished off our Level 1 training which serves as an introduction to ABA.  In total, it’s about 10 – 13 hours worth of learning, all content prepared and vetted by 3 different BCBA’s we have on staff.  Good stuff indeed.  So that’s the first big thing to announce.

While Level 1 was getting finished off and uploaded onto the site, I was also in the middle of applying some upgrades and maintenance to our site, specifically the classroom environment where the trainings are presented.  In short, the classroom environment can now produce a few more ways to track your own progress (historical data on your test taking, averages on your overall performance with tests in general).  These updates are definitely worth their weight in gold for supervisors putting staff through our trainings though.  Single users wouldn’t benefit as much for just themselves, however if a single user was to send a therapist about to work with their child through, then yes it does become extremely useful.

Otherwise, I’m about to start pounding the pavement real hard on getting our site and services introduced to the autism communities all over the net and anywhere else who’s interested.  But don’t worry, I won’t ignore the blog.  I’m not that kind of guy :)

On that note, have yourself a good weekend and enjoy your time with friends and loved ones!

Announcing the ABA Training Center Blog

Well look what we have here!  Yup, here we have our very own blog, available for you to enjoy.  Seeing that this is the first post on the blog, it only makes sense to explain why we have one, who’s managing it and what it means to you.

Why

With all the fancy technology fueling our main site, that’s the only thing that you (the visitor, soon to be loyal rabid fans of this blog) have to interact with.  That’s just not acceptable in my book.  You need a place to hear what’s going on.  You need a place to also tell us what you think.  So, here we have the blog.  Oh, and we are on Facebook and twitter as well if you’re an online junkie like yours truly.

Who

The elusive “who” is me, Matt Webb.  I am the Web Manager for ABA Training Center.  Yes I know, Web Manager and my last name is Webb… trust me I’ve heard that a million times.  Anyways,  I’m the man behind the curtain so to speak.  But I guess things brings us back to another “why” now doesn’t it?  “Why” am I the guy writing this blog?  Well, there is a reason…

I’m the father of 2 autistic children myself.  So not only am I a crazy web-geek, I’m also a real person who understands what it’s like to be a parent in this situation.  That’s also why I love my job with this company;  I have a large part in how you learn what I’m learning too.  Before coming on board with ABA Training Center, I really didn’t know of any web based platforms that could actually teach me about autism and learning disorders as well as explain to me how to correct problem behaviors with my boys.

So that’s who I am.  Over time, we’ll get to know each other more, but for now I gotta finish up this blog post.

What

So what does this spiffy blog mean for you?  Well, it’s an open sounding board.. a direct connection with the people who are trying to make our site an indispensable tool for parents and therapists alike.  So what does that mean exactly?  Well, as I continue to code away on the site making changes, I’ll also be needing your input on new features that will help you and others when you’re visiting us.  It’s also a great way to meet other web junkies (admit it, you know you are) who also are living with autism under their roof.

So anyways, that’s what this is all about.  I’ll be back again real soon with more to talk about.  Go ahead and subscribe to our RSS, or join us on Facebook or twitter to keep up to speed.  Thanks for stopping by!
